Hacking is a great way for riders of different abilities to get the full experience and joy of riding a horse out into the New Forest.

Bagnum Equestrian’s New Forest Hacks are designed to accommodate all abilities. Riders will be taught to walk and trot if they do not already know how to. More experienced riders will be given the opportunity to canter if we feel they are competant to. If you are wanting to ride with friends or family of a different ability to yourself we will always cater the ride to the lower level of rider, however we do our best to try and ensure the more experienced riders do still get to canter if we feel it is safe to do so.

Hacks are led by our friendly and experienced instructors on horseback. Groups vary from 2-7 people, but we do also cater for larger groups. We have 15-20 minutes of quiet, scenic country lanes to ride up before getting into the forest, which is a perfect way to get to grips with the basics and get to know your horse or pony.

Woodlands, trickling streams, beautiful rolling heathland as well as wild ponies and other wildlife make the forest an ideal destination for horse riding. There are a numerous amount of tracks and paths to accommodate all ages and abilities, so if you are looking for a memorable experience whether you are local or travelling to the area get booked in!

The safety of our customers, staff and horses is our priority when taking rides out. If we do not feel a rider is competant to canter out on the forest then they will not be able to.

2 Hour Hack - For advanced riders ONLY

£85pp (£30pp extra for a private ride)

This ride is for advanced riders ONLY.  Our 2 Hour Hacks are designed for competant riders who enjoy riding at a faster more forward pace. These routes go further out into the forest offering a wide variety of routes. All riders joining this ride must be competant in walk trot and canter in wide open spaces and used to a more forward going horse. If you are unsure as to whether you would be competant enough to take part in this ride feel free to give us a call, or try one of our shorter rides first so that we can assess your ability.

Rides who we feel are not competant enough to do this ride will be sadly turned away, a shorter ride option may be offered but this cannot be guaranteed and you do risk losing your money if you are not honest about your riding ability.
